The Association of Estonian Islands (AEI) founded in 1992, is a voluntary non-profit organization of representatives of the residents of islands. AEI review ENG
AEI addresses the topical problems of the islands, presents them to the nation and the government, and participates in their solving.
International cooperation:
AEI is a member of European Small Islands Federation (ESIN, www.europeansmallislands.net) established in 2001.
AEI has especially good contacts with National Association of Finnish Islands www.foss.fi and with National Association for Swedish Archipelago www.skargardarnasriksforbund.se.
Hiiumaa and Saaremaa cooperate with Gotland, Öland, Aland, Bornholm and Rügen in Baltic 7 Network www.b7.org.
Hiiumaa and Saaremaa are members of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions CRPM.
